The Wyre Forest Arts Forum is YOUR voice if you are interested in the arts and crafts in the Wyre Forest Area.

Who is it for ?

Whether amateur or professional, a solo artist or a member of a group, collective or ensemble; whether you live locally or are active in a club or society within the Wyre Forest area; the Forum is for you.
This includes anyone involved in the Arts at school or at college; or working in the Museum or Library services.

Why a Forum ?

Too often the arts and crafts in an area function in isolation, without the opportunity to share ideas and information; without a strong voice to lobby for resources, facilities and promote their full recognition within the community.
This Forum was launched in 1994 in the belief that it could make a real impact in the arts and help create that strong united voice.

Its aims are_

to promote access to and participation in the arts and crafts_

to enable communication among its members and to spread information about them_

to create a voice for the arts and crafts, coordinating their efforts and lobbying for resources for them_

to act as an advocate for the arts and crafts and to raise their profileWhat does it do ?

by_

developing ways in which to promote and publicise the arts and crafts in the area_

offering members opportunities to meet and exchange views and information and to debate the direction of the artistic life of the area_

developing contacts with other arts bodies and funding organisations_

informing members about events, training opportunities, discounts, publications and resources_

arranging showcase events to display the arts and crafts of members to the wider public_

improving existing facilities and arrange for the development of new opportunities within the area_

co-ordinating and facilitating applications and projects to attract Grant and Lottery funding to this area_

seeking Charitable status to enhance its ability to work on behalf of the arts and crafts in the Wyre Forest_
