Lyn Tyler
Ceramics
Lyn Tyler produces
sculptural ceramics at her Bewdley workshop.
Her current body of work, inspired by the life and work of writer Arais Nin,
seeks to explore the
relationship between sensuality and vulnerability.
Made from stoneware, each figure is hand built and fired with body stains and under glazes.
The highly decorative motifs painted in under glaze enhance the line of the form
and encourage the viewer to look more closely, drawing them in.
Lyn, who has
lectured in Art & Design Courses at West Midland colleges,
leads workshops at the County museum, Hartlebury,
and has worked on major projects as 'Artist-in-Residence' in Worcestershire
schools.
A recent commission of public art can be seen at Sandwell,
W.Mids.
Her workshop in the Craft Centre at Lax Lane, Bewdley,
is used for a diverse
range of classes.
Lyn offers tuition in drawing, painting and pottery for adults,
as well as running a Saturday Arts Club for 8 - 12 year olds.
